A Victorian Globe Shaped Cut Decanter
SKU: RJ00623
£50.00Price
Until the 1670s, wine was served at the table in jug or green glass bottle. The decanter started to appear after 1670 and usually took a jug form, it wasn't until the middle of the 1700s that decanters were seen in a form we are more familiar with now.
This is a globe shaped, Victorian, cut decanter with panel cut shoulders over two rows of oval or thumb cuts, the neck of the decanter and the stopper are also cut glass. This would have been in a middle to high income household.
Condition is good with no chips or cracks.
