Small wooden bowls were used during the 18th and 19th century for all manner of things in the kitchen and dinning room. These would usually be turned by a local craftsperson and would last for generations. This is a Georgian, turned fruitwood pedestal bowl used for salt at the table, it would have been used in a wealthy household. The condition is very good, with no splits or cracks.
