Small Victorian Photograph Frame
In the 18th and 19th century, every house had a fireplace, and therefore a mantlepiece, and in the grander houses, several mantlepieces. These would be decorated with all manner of things from clocks, candlesticks, photograph frames and pottery and brass ornaments.
This is a fine quality small french photo frame with bow and swag decoration, made from polished brass. It has a brass back plate which slides to replace the photograph and an easel stand, also sporting a ring at the top of the frame so that it could be hung a wall or drape as required.
In good conditon, no splits or ware to the brass.
